Alumni Outcomes

Since 1990, we have graduated 60 biochemistry and chemistry majors from the college. Of that group, 22 (37%) and 3 (5%) immediately attended science graduate schools and medical schools, respectively; 34 of the remaining 35 individuals are using their science background, most as laboratory technicians in academic and industrial settings. Clearly the SMC chemistry program trains students to be scientists and serves as a feeder program to graduate schools and other professional programs.

The graduate schools attended by our graduates include: University of Massachusetts, Amherst, University of Washington State, Dartmouth, University of Vermont, University of Rochester, University of Pennsylvania, University of Wisconsin, Notre Dame, MIT, and the University of Virginia.

Recent student alumni submitted information about their current positions and how St. Michael’s helped them succeed. You can find their statements here.
