Be guided by love, not fear.
What do you enjoy most about being an admission counselor?
Getting to know students and their families and assisting them through the college search/application process from the earliest stages of inquiry to the final stages of enrollment.
Best tip for students coming for a campus visit:
Learn as much as you can (from our website, guidance counselor, current students and alumni, etc.) in advance of your visit. Whether you attend a group session or meet individually with an admission counselor, formulate questions that will address your interests in academics, campus/residence life, athletics, the Burlington area, etc.
Campus tours are very important during a visit since it not only provides you with lots of information but gives you an opportunity to meet a current student and ask him/her questions.
Don’t leave campus without learning about our admission requirements and the profile of a typical admitted student. You want to determine as much as possible from the campus visit whether or not Saint Michael's College is a good match for you in regard to academics, campus life and location.
Best tip for students applying to Saint Michael's:
Most importantly choose college prep courses in English, math, science, foreign language and social studies through senior year and earn B's or better in as many of your classes as possible. Always be a strong self-advocate and clearly communicate your interest in Saint Michael's through correspondence, interviews and inquiries.
Working in higher education is particularly gratifying at a college like Saint Michael’s that is so committed to the academic, social and spiritual integrity of the entire community of students, faculty and staff.
