Catholic Scholarships

Saint Michael's students benefit from a college education that is dedicated to social justice, service and ethical development. Those values are hallmarks of the Society of St. Edmund, which founded Saint Michael's over a century ago and which continues to be an influential part of campus life.

As a way of honoring students who've shown a commitment to Catholic education and service, Saint Michael’s has two Catholic scholarship opportunities: our Parish Scholarship, which recognizes students who have been active in their local parish, and the Edmundite Scholarship, which recognizes students who have attended a Catholic high school.

These are automatic $5,000 annual scholarships that are awarded to qualified students. Here's how to apply:

The Edmundite Scholarship

The Edmundite Scholarship recognizes the commitment students have made to a Catholic education by attending a Catholic high school.

Students who graduate from Catholic high schools and are admitted to Saint Michael's College will receive a scholarship of $20,000 over four years ($5,000 per year) at Saint Michael's College. The scholarship must be applied to tuition only at Saint Michael's College. 

Eligibility
Students must be enrolled and graduate from Catholic high schools. Students who receive the Edmundite Scholarship are not eligible to receive the Parish Scholarship.

Students must be enrolled full-time and maintain a GPA of 2.00 in order to maintain scholarship eligibility for each year.

Deadline
Students who want to be considered for the Edmundite Scholarship must apply for admission by February 1.

The Parish Scholarship

The Parish Scholarship rewards those students who have been active in a Catholic parish.

Each parish in the Catholic Diocese may select one of its parishioners (who must be a first-year applicant to the College) to receive a tuition scholarship of $20,000 over four years ($5,000 per year) at Saint Michael's College. The scholarship must be applied to tuition only at Saint Michael's College.

Eligibility
Nominations for the scholarship must be received by the Office of New Student Financial Aid & Scholarships by February 1. Nominations received after this date will be considered on a funds available basis.

  • Nominated incoming students who are accepted to Saint Michael's are eligible for the scholarship.
  • Students who receive the Parish Scholarship are not eligible to receive the Edmundite Scholarship.
  • Students must be enrolled full-time and maintain a GPA of 2.00 in order to maintain scholarship eligibility for each year.

How to Apply
Have your parish pastor fill out the Parish Scholarship Nomination Form. Please call the Office of New Student Financial Aid & Scholarships at 802.654.3243 for application information. Please note: the time period to submit the Parish Scholarship Nomination Form has ended. This form will be available again in October 2013.

Deadline
Students who want to be considered for the Parish Scholarship must apply for admission by February 1.
