New Student Orientation
We believe in happy beginnings.
Congratulations and welcome to Saint Michael's College. We are very excited for your arrival in August and look forward to you joining our community and sharing your talents!
We have a lot of great things in store for you starting with your New Student Orientation on Friday, August 29th. You will move in and your first day includes getting your keys and KnightCard identification, meeting your orientation group and floormates, and starting orientation activities. You can move in anytime between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. To create a smoother opening process, we ask that if you have a last name beginning with a letter between L and Z arrive between 9:00 am - 12:00 pm and those with a last name beginning with a letter between A and K between 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm.
Parents and Families
Your arrival date is up to you, however many families drive up on opening day (August 29th); others come the night before and stay at a hotel. Because of Friday evening's New Student Convocation and Saturday morning's parents/families information session, many families stay overnight. Neither Convocation nor the Saturday morning session are mandatory, but we feel they are worthwhile. After lunch on Saturday, you are welcome to explore Burlington while students are occupied with Orientation Activities.
You will be busy with Orientation Activities from Friday, August 29 at 4:00 pm until after opening mass on Sunday, August 31 at 7:00 pm. These activities will get you acclimated to your surroundings and help you get to know classmates, upperclassmen, and important campus resources.
For planning and travel purposes, plan on being here Friday, August 29th in order to move in. If you would like to come up on Thursday and stay overnight, we have a list of hotel recommendations available online and also on page 5 of the New Student Guide.
