Receiving Procedures

Purchasing/Receiving Requirements

• Request a "PO #" from Purchasing before placing an order.
• All orders must be shipped to SMC Receiving. When orders are sent to Receiving, the proper information will be entered on the computer which will allow Accounts Payable to pay the invoice when it arrives.
• If goods are delivered directly to the department (ie., if the goods are picked up, or come in FedEx, UPS, etc,), Saint Michael's College Receiving must be notified of the receipt of goods/services ordered with a PO.

Steps to Take

1. Identify exactly what has been received on the packing slip of similar piece of paper (be sure PO # is noted)
2. Sign the packing slip
3. Send the packing slip to SMC Receiving via campus mail.

Directions

From I-89 North, take a right onto Route 15. Proceed up the hill and head north to the fifth traffic light. Turn left into Fort Ethan Allen onto Barnes Avenue. Go past Ethan Allen Avenue, and Receiving is located in the 3-bay one-story brick building on your right at the corner of Barnes and Hegeman Avenue.

From Essex, heading south on Route 15, go past the intersection of Susie Wilson Road (Ames/GU Markets Plaza) and head continue heading south for about 1/2 mile. At the next traffic light, turn right into Fort Ethan Allen onto Barnes Avenue. Go past Ethan Allen Avenue and Receiving is located in the 3-bay one-story brick building on your right at the corner of Barnes and Hegeman Avenue.
