RAVE is a communication system that sends messages to campus community members’ cell phones and email accounts in the event of an emergency. Registered users receive messages with updates and instructions from the college should an emergency take place on campus.
How do I Register?
Go to www.getrave.com and log in using your MIKENET username and password. You will be asked to confirm your cell contact information as well as provide a preferred email address.
What kind of messages will I receive?
At this time, RAVE is used only for emergency communications to advise you of situations requiring immediate action or evacuation. Examples might include an intruder incident, bomb threat, hazardous material incident or weather emergency that might interrupt normal campus activities or operations. The system is tested periodically, so occasional ‘test’ messages appear.
Is there any cost?
There's no cost to register. Sent messages are subject to your cell provider’s fee for receiving text (SMS) messages.
What happens when I graduate?
Students who are no longer enrolled at SMC are removed from the alert list.
