Following up on the theme of my October 2014 letter, I am excited to share with you what’s going on at Saint Michael’s.
Saint Michael’s continues to utilize the power of social media and technology in new and exciting ways. The College now has its own alumni directory app for your mobile device. We partnered with a company called EverTrue to create a mobile app that harnesses the power of Linkedln and the Saint Michael’s alumni database to help you make career connections with fellow graduates. If you are moving to a new city or looking to change careers, the advanced directory search options will help you locate the right grads to network with out of the 20,000 members of our Alumni Association.
Also, the Alumni Association board of directors, in concert with the Alumni and Parent Relations Office, has officially launched the Purple and Gold Society, made up of alumni who give back to Saint Michael’s through volunteerism. Saint Michael’s and the alumni board recognize our Purple and Gold members by offering first chance at tickets to big events, giveaways and special events just for them. If you'd like to be a member, all you have to do is volunteer! To learn more, e-mail the Alumni Office at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit the website.
For the third consecutive year, on March 26, the alumni office held our Purple and Gold Day celebration, which included 23 socials – our virtual spirit day for alumni, parents and friends around the world. Photos from the day, tagged with #smcvtalumni, can be seen on our tag board at smcvt.edu/smcvtalumni. For more information, contact Meghan Sweezey ’10 at email@example.com.
I encourage you, too, to get to know your Alumni Association board of directors. We will post our bios and photos on the Saint Michael’s website this spring, and we invite you to reach out and connect with us. We want to hear from you.
I look forward to returning to Saint Michael's several times in 2015, and I hope those of you who can visit will do so. I believe you will be impressed with the activity and level of energy at our alma mater.
