I previously was visiting assistant professor of accounting at Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania, and I have been a sole practitioner attorney and CPA since 1999.

Francis Farina, assistant professor of business administration and accounting, attended the American Accounting Association Annual Meeting in Washington, DC, in August 2012. He served as a Concurrent Session discussant for papers entitled “The IFRS Debate: To Adopt or Not Adopt” and “A Comparison of Student’s Performance in an Online Introductory Managerial Accounting Class with Hybrid Classroom Setting.” Frank was also a pre-conference peer reviewer for three papers, none of which were picked for presentation, and attended a number of sessions. AAA is the pre-eminent organization of accounting academics. In July 2012, Frank also attended the Accounting Education Conference of the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs in Hershey, PA. He presented a session entitled “Effective Writing in the Classroom and Developing Rubrics,” which discussed his approach, tactics and rubrics to teach writing to accounting students at Saint Michael’s. In May 2012, Frank was in Cooperstown, NY, for the 24th Cooperstown Symposium on Baseball and American Culture, where he served as co-author and presenter (with Kenneth A. Jacobsen, Esq.) of a paper, “The Accidental Mascot: How Mr. Celery Reached His Salad Days With the Wilmington Blue Rocks” (anthology publication pending), and as a moderator of a panel, “Baseball and the Cinema.” Frank also played first trombone in the pit orchestra for 13 performances of Bye Bye Birdie at the Footlighters Theater in Berwyn, PA, and three concerts with the Upper Darby John Philip Sousa Band and a 4th of July parade in Broomall, PA.
