What do you like about St. Mike's?
The support system we have here. My friends, my advisor and my professors all really encourage me to find my own path and my passion.
It's a tie between Intro to Business, which gave me hands-on experience in creating my own business (we sold St. Mike's winter hats) and Intro to Philosophy - I was not expecting to enjoy philosophy but Professor L'Hôte makes it very fun and relevant.
Dennis Voigt made financial accounting interesting and was very encouraging and fun.
What's your favorite spot on-campus?
I love the shuttle and the shuttle drivers. They are so caring, and they enjoy their job and seeing us every day. By the second day of class, one driver knew everybody's name. At night he'll wait to see you get into your building.
The Skinny Pancake in Burlington is my favorite breakfast place. It's beautiful by the water.
What's have you learned at St. Mike's that's been surprising?
It's okay to not know what to do with your entire life. I've changed my major four times from business to education to psychology and then back to business, and each time I’ve had amazing support from my new advisors.
How do you give back to the community?
I'm part of the Little Brother Little Sister mentoring program and I mentor a student I met my first year. She's seven years old and every week we meet and get dinner, play games, color. I’m in the Liturgical Choir, where we rehearse each week and perform at 7 p.m. Mass. It's a little family.
What makes you happy?
I really like challenging myself. My classes help me do that, as well as getting really involved in things like blogging and being a tour guide for St. Mike's.
