What do you like about St. Mike's?
What don't I like?! Every single person I've met here is really friendly and kind. People are here to help you if you need it, so you feel very comfortable asking for help and just saying hi.
What's your favorite class?
Media Law and Ethics with Traci Griffith, which is both fun and real interesting. We had to go see an arraignment, get information on a court case, go to a public meeting, go to the city appraiser's office. I went to a neighborhood planning meeting when they were talking about the waterfront.
Do you have a favorite professor?
One of the most interesting has been George Dameron, my history professor. He's passionate about history and he really keeps your attention. He is very nice.
What's your favorite spot on-campus?
The cubicles in the library. If I'm feeling stressed I'll go there and do some work.
What at St. Mike's has inspired you?
Seeing how involved people here get, especially with the MOVE program. When I see how passionate people are about certain topics, it inspires me because it helps me figure out what my passions are, and makes me just as excited to get involved with something.
How do you give back to the community?
I am a tour guide for Founder's Society; I'm also the vice president of the Random Acts of Kindness Club. We like to do things on campus for students and have been trying to branch out and do the acts of kindness on our own in our hometowns. I also have done some MOVE service, like raking leaves for an elderly woman in Colchester, which was really fun. I'm also the president of the Quad.
What do you do in your spare time?
I like to go to the gym and run. I really like reading historical fiction. Just now I'm reading The Book Thief, about a foster girl living in Germany in World War II.
What do you think you want to do with your life?
I want to specialize in journalism with my major, possibly going into news production, because I think my history major would tie into that well.
What makes you happy?
Feeling so a part of a community really makes me happy. As a St. Mike's student, you have a place in the world that's really nice to come back to.
