What do you like about St. Mike's?
My professors are always available for extra help and provide great guidance. And I love how friendly everybody is. You always get smiles walking to and from class.
What's your favorite class?
Neurobiology with my advisor, Adam Weaver. In lectures he connected what we were doing with real-world applications. I am going to be his Teaching Assistant for neurobiology next year. I was really excited when he asked me to do that. We have a great relationship and I can go to him whenever I need something.
What's your favorite spot on-campus?
I love the Dailey Room in the library because you get the best view of campus, especially in winter when the Christmas tree is lit.
When it's cold, Lake Champlain Chocolates on Church Street is a must to stop by for a hot chocolate and warm-up.
What's something you learned at SMC that's been inspiring?
When I went on a LEAP retreat I learned a lot about how to really live in every moment and not just take that as one of those phrases that everyone throws around. It opened my eyes to finding the beauty in everything and motivated me to be the best person I can be. Thats really helped me in academics and in service, and to be happier in general.
In what ways do you engage or give back to the community?
I run a program called Teen Scene through MOVE that works with middle-schoolers who need a place to go after school. I've been on two extended service trips and this May I'll be going to India on a MOVE service trip. There's eight of us going, including student leaders and a faculty leader.
What do you do in your spare time?
I have the Smuggs pass, I'm involved with VITA where we have good faith discussion groups, and I'm on the varsity volleyball team.
What do you think you want to do with your life?
I want to be a pediatric physical therapist. I love working with kids.
20 years from now, what do you think a favorite college memory will be?
I've met people and made connections at levels I hadn’t felt before. All the love I've felt at Saint Michael's is what I’ll remember the most.
What makes you happy?
Being around people. Engaging in service; giving people random compliments. I thrive off of other people's energy.
