Update from the Presidential Search Committee Chair

November 19, 2017

Dear Members of the Saint Michael’s Community,

As promised, I am pleased to share an update on the presidential search. To date, the search committee has reviewed more than 60 applications and narrowed the pool to a short list and following reference calls and additional due diligence, selected a smaller number of extremely qualified candidates for initial in-person interviews. Those interviews are now complete and after much discussion and deliberation, we are nearing a recommendation on final candidates for further consideration. This next step will require deeper due diligence and discussion, followed by a decision on how best to proceed to the finalist phase. Your questions and concerns are all reflected in our interview process.

The search committee has worked exceptionally well together and participated fully and collaboratively at each step along the way. Much work remains and we are moving forward with excitement and a sense of commitment to ensuring that quality vetting and conversation lead our efforts. We look forward to communicating with you as we learn more and the process moves toward the final phase. We appreciate your patience and understanding regarding our need to remain in a highly confidential state at this time.

Thank you,

Mary-Kate McKenna

Chair, Board of Trustees and Presidential Search Committee
