1. In order to pursue a summer internship, students must have a 2.7 GPA. If your GPA is between 2.5 and 2.69 you can apply for a waiver. The form is available here.
2. Students are responsible for making arrangements with a faculty member in their department to supervise the academic component of the internship. There are recommendations on our website that will assist in the development of the Study Agreement.
3. The student must submit a detailed job description of the internship to the Internship Office for approval. Because it is an academic internship, the job description must clearly state that the projects involved will allow the student the opportunity to integrate classroom learning. Administrative responsibilities must be kept to a minimum. The site experience must be categorized as an internship by the company. You cannot convert a summer job into an internship.
4. Applications are completed on line and a hard copy with all of the appropriate signatures must be submitted to the Internship Director before the end of the spring semester. Once the application is approved, it will be forwarded directly to the Registrar’s Office.
5. You cannot register for an internship through Knight Vision. All internship registrations are handled by the Internship Office.
