Church Street

If you think Vermont is all about cows, syrup and snow, you haven’t been to the Church Street Marketplace--yet.

The famous marketplace, an award-winning five-block long pedestrian mall, is the center of the city and it has tons of great shops (everything from Urban Outfitters, American Apparel and Abercrombie & Fitch to a comic book store, artist supplies, boutiques and skateboarding gear) restaurants, coffee shops, clubs and galleries.

It’s a fast (and free) bus ride from campus right to the center of the Marketplace and once you’re Ben & Jerry's on Chruch Streetdowntown, you can spend all day and late into the night exploring all that downtown Burlington has to offer. Visit Nectar’s, where Phish got their start and where local bands play most nights.

With a Cultural Pass, the Flynn Center’s shows are at your fingertips. There’s lots of free wireless internet access at the coffee and tea shops in town. Yoga studios, spas, hair salons, barbers, bakeries, pubs, pizzerias and music stores fill the storefronts.
