Religious Studies Position

Saint Michael's College invites applications for a tenure-track position (rank open) in the Religious Studies Department with a concentration in Christianity, beginning in fall 2009. The department seeks candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: Women and Christianity, the History of Christian Thought (early-modern, modern or contemporary), or Christianity and Culture. Ph.D. must be in hand by August 2009. The successful applicant will be expected to teach introductory courses in the Christian tradition and upper level courses in their area of expertise. Other opportunities include teaching in interdisciplinary courses and team-teaching within the department. Evidence of scholarship and/or promise of scholarly excellence is required. Normal teaching load is 21 credit hours per academic year, with a mix of 3- and 4-credit courses. Competitive salary and benefits.
