Applications are invited for the position of Head Athletic Trainer at Saint Michael's College, a private, Catholic liberal arts and sciences college located in the greater Burlington area of Vermont. Saint Michael’s is a NCAA Division II institution sponsoring 21 varsity sports, and is a proud member of the Northeast-10 Conference and the ECAC. This is a full-time (11 month) position with benefits.
Job responsibilities include addressing prevention, care, evaluation, and treatment of injuries for intercollegiate student-athletes. Duties include staffing home and away contests, supervising assistant trainer(s), student workers, managing budget, and ordering equipment and supplies.
Qualifications: Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree (Masters preferred), CPR, First Aid, and NATABOC, Vermont license/eligible required. Three to five years of experience in athletic training or physical therapy, preferably in an athletic setting, is required, experience with staff/personnel supervision and administrative experience highly desirable. Outstanding skills related to the evaluation and treatment of injuries is essential. Outstanding administration, management, and communication skills and an ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of constituents are necessary. This position will require regular work hours, as well as evening, weekend, and holiday times.
