and to all humankind is a vibrant part of student life, reflecting the heritage of service of the Edmundite priests who founded Saint Michael’s—the one and only Edmundite college in the world—in 1904. Today, more than 70% of the student body actively pursues community service projects through Mobilization of Volunteer Efforts (M.O.V.E.), reflecting a unique passion for social justice issues on campus. In the classroom, ethical and moral considerations always complement intellectual discourse. And students can find spiritual engagement through the extensive programming offered by the Office of Edmundite Campus Ministry.

Burlington, Vermont’s largest city, the area attracts 14,000 students enrolled in five local colleges and universities. In addition to the shops, restaurants and cafes of the Church Street Marketplace and a lively local music scene, Burlington offers great opportunities for hands-on learning through internships. Vermont, known for its natural beauty, environmentalism and year-round recreational activities, inspires many students to take advantage of some of the best skiing in the East through a new agreement with Smugglers’ Notch ski resort—a program that provides an all-access season pass to any Saint Michael’s student in good academic standing—and through the College’s renowned Wilderness Program.
