Welcome to our campus community. Enrolled participants in the Accelerated Summer College program will attend a required orientation on Sunday, May 22, prior to classes beginning on Monday, May 23. You will have the opportunity to meet other students in the program, be introduced to various campus services, and be made aware of campus and residence hall policies and procedures.
The Residential Experience
Our campus is a 24-hour living and learning community where our students get involved, develop lifelong friendships and become better citizens, both on campus and in society.
The Green Mountain Dining Room is open daily and serves three meals a day with unlimited servings. Einstein Bros. Bagels, located in the student center, is a great place to pick up coffee, a bagel, other snacks or a sandwich. The student center is a great place to utilize the MakerSpace or find a quiet area to study in.
You will reside in the Cashman Hall, positioned in the center of campus. This building consists of suites with eight single bedrooms and a common area with two baths. A kitchen and lounges are also included on each floor. Laundry facilities are available as well. The entire building is air conditioned and provides wireless access.
There are a number of residential life staff members here to make your campus life safe, comfortable and rewarding. Our staff includes RAs who are current undergraduate students who live on each floor, a graduate student who supervises the entire building, and full-time professionals including our Director and Assistant Deans of Students who have many years of experience working in higher education.
Student Activities & Residential Programming
As a summer college student, you will be able to participate in numerous events on and off campus sponsored by our Residence Life and Student Activities Offices. You will have access to our new Dion Family Student Center as well as the Ross Sports Center and Tarrant Recreation Center. Programming will be rich and varied with activities that take advantage of all that Vermont and this unique community have to offer.
The Residence Life and Student Activities Office promotes such events as:
-The Vermont Lake Monsters
-Late Night Grilling
-The Saint Michael's College Organic Garden
Additionally, we are just a few minutes from downtown Burlington and Lake Champlain, great places to visit that hosts many activities and festivals during the summer. Your SMC ID provides free access to CCTA (local bus route) for transportation to and from Burlington, and the rest of Chittenden County.
