Accounting

Businesses across the country are looking for graduates who are effective communicators, understand the nature of business in society and can think analytically. That’s why our alumni succeed. Acct StudentTaking accounting courses at a liberal arts college like Saint Michael's means you’ll have a broader view of opportunities in all aspects of your life; you’ll be better able to construct and articulate a rationale for being hired and you‘ll have the skills to be promoted throughout your career.

The Accounting Major prepares students for careers in a variety of organizations including public accounting firms, business enterprises, governmental and non-profit organizations, and service organizations. In addition, the coursework is sufficiently broad and deep to prepare students to continue their studies in graduate programs in accounting or business administration. Advisers guide students through the complex relationship between the accounting major and preparation for the CPA exam.
