Academic Advising and Registration
Academic advising and registration are separate but closely related aspects of undergraduate life. While it may seem that the sequence is advising leading to registration is simple, in reality, the relationship is much more complex. The ongoing dialogue between the student and advisors provides the framework and logic within which decisions about courses are reached. The selection of courses and development of a schedule all should flow from reflection and dialogue regarding the advisee’s academic strengths and interests, borne out in the formal declaration of a major with a plan for undergraduate study.
