NSF Scholarship Program

The Computer Science and Mathematics Departments have received a grant from the National Science Foundation to provide scholarship money for students in the class enrolling in the Fall of 2009.

Eligibility for this program is based on financial need, academic strength, and interest in majoring in mathematics or computer science. Scholarship amounts may range from $1,000 to $10,000 per year.  These scholarships are renewable for four years if you continue to major in mathematics or computer science, demonstrate continuing academic potential or ability, and have financial need.

The NSF S-STEM program requires that recipients of awards meet the following criteria in addition to selection by our scholarship committee:

  • be United States citizens, nationals, refugee aliens, or permanent resident aliens at the time of application;
  • be enrolled full time in our mathematics or computer science degree program at the baccalaureate level;
  • demonstrate continuing academic potential or ability;
  • demonstrate financial need, defined for undergraduate students by the United States Department of Education rules for Federal financial aid.

You must complete the application for admission to Saint Michael's College as well as the supplemental application for the NSF Scholarship program.
