Students participating in our joint program with the University of Vermont take courses concurrently at Saint Michael's and UVM, which is just a five-minute bus ride away in Burlington. During the first two years, most of your courses in math, science and liberal studies will be taken at Saint Michael's. Gradually, your course load will shift to engineering courses, so that by the last two years of the program most of your courses will be taken at UVM.
Formal application to UVM will take place at the end of your second year, but courses can be taken there earlier. The benefits of this program include an earlier introduction to engineering courses, plus the fact that you don't need to leave the area (and your friends!) as you begin the engineering phase of your studies.
Whether you select the engineering program at UVM or Clarkson, you'll have the opportunity to participate in an internship program that will enhance your education by providing you with hands-on engineering experience to complement what you learn in the classroom.
Required for the Dual Degree Engineering Program (Saint Michael's portion)
MA 109 Calculus I (4 credits)
MA 111 Calculus II (4 credits)
MA 211 Calculus III (4 credits)
MA 213 Linear Algebra (4 credits)
MA 251 Probability and Statistics (4 credits)
MA 303 Differential Equations (4 credits)
