Required for the Gender Studies Major: 11 courses and a minimum of 36 credits

GS 101 - Introduction to Gender/Women’s Studies (3 credits)
GS 203 - Gender Issues in Society (3 credits)
GS 308 - Advanced Special Topics in Gender Studies (3 credits)
GS 410 - Senior Capstone Course
SO 217 - Social Inequality (4 credits) OR 
SO 327 - Anthropological Perspectives on Gender (4 credits)

And one of the following theory courses:

PS 304 - Gender Issues in Psychology (4 credits)
PH 390 - Philosophical Topics (4 credits)

Five additional courses from the elective list below. No more than two may be taken from any one department; three of the five must be at the 300-level or above. these courses or GS 308 must be a cross-cultural or non-Western course examining gender roles. Course choices that dovetail and cluster with one another and/or with the student’s other major or minor are strongly recommended.
