The Global Studies minor provides students with an understanding of the vocabulary and theory of globalization as well as a forum for discussion of the ethical and social issues emerging from economic, political, cultural and technical aspects of globalization.
Students develop an understanding of the impact of technologies on cultural, political, geographical and economic systems worldwide. They investigate the tension and interplay of local and global forces in communities worldwide, enhance their proficiency in a second language and gain deepened perspectives on global issues through an international study or service-learning experience linked to global peace and justice issues.
