Title: ENDURANCE EVENTS MARKETING INTERNSHIP
The Marketing Intern for Endurance Events plays a vital role in coordinating the details of the American Cancer Society Endurance Event programs across Vermont and Northern New England. Intern will Explore publications/venues that will publicize and promote Endurance Event programs; contact local athletic, outdoor, or running stores in your area to see if they have an events calendar or would like to be involved in some way; write and distribute new releases to local and national publications before and after the event; monitor newspaper stories and other publications that include information on Endurance Events. Share clippings with ACS staff and speak in front of interested parties, pitching involvement in 2010 programs. The intern is also charged with developing a network of participants and volunteers to ensure the events are exciting and successful.

Reach out to potential collaborators within the college community for help in reaching the goals of the American Cancer Society’s Smoke Free College Campaign. Identify American Cancer Society volunteers who are interested in working on the Smoke Free College Campaign. Pair the volunteers to colleges in their area. Coordinate the Smoke Free College Summit. Work with American Cancer Society staff to identify and invite appropriate attendees from each college campus to the Smoke Free College Summit. Draft smoke free fact sheets to distribute around college campuses. Help mobilize high school youth groups. Collaborate on special project to support the program.

Title: ACCOUNTING INTERN
Aon Insurance Managers (AIM) is a leading captive management company not only in Vermont, but in various locations within the Unites States, and globally as well. AIM manages nearly 200 captives, many of which are owned by Fortune 500 or even Fortune 100 companies. Our primary functions include preparation of monthly or quarterly financial statements, completion of regulatory filings, and other corporate compliance items, acting as a liaison for the audit and regulatory exam processes, and serving as a consultant on varying topics. Intern would become an integral part of the financial statement preparation process, working directly with all team members, from Accountants to Senior Management. Tasks may include bank reconciliations, processing of insurance premiums and loss reports, recording of standard journal entries, updating excel financial statement packages, and other reconciliations as required as part of the financial statement process. Interns may also assist in preparation of annual board meetings for clients, learning accounting software and assisting in the set up of the client’s information, assisting in any special projects that may arise, and learning office policies, while giving important feedback for areas where efficiencies can be gained.
