Reference and Instruction

The Reference Desk is located on the main floor of the Durick Library where reference librarians provide research assistance for students, faculty, and staff. See Reference Help/Hours for getting help from a librarian.

Reference Librarians assist with finding information such as statistics, addresses, biographies, etc.; identifying key research tools such as indexes, encyclopedias, and atlases; selecting and searching electronic databases.

Mission: The librarians support the curriculum through instructional services that assist students with their research and provide them with information literacy skills for lifelong learning. To that end, librarians collaborate with faculty to engage students with inquiry-based assignments that foster critical thinking and prepare students to use information wisely and effectively in their academic, professional, and personal lives.
