Map Circulation

Use of Maps
Maps are designated non-circulating material and may be circulated by special permission only.  Decisions on map circulation are made by a librarian.  Circulation staff will make the decision in the absence of a librarian.

Guidelines for circulation
Flat maps are delicate and subject to damage if removed from the building.  They should be circulated only if absolutely necessary.  Every effort should be made to find an alternative before allowing circulation.

Faculty may borrow rolled and folded maps. One semester is the outside limit for faculty borrowing.

Students may borrow maps for legitimate outside-the-library use (usually class presentations or scanning).  The outside limit for student borrowing is 48 hours.

Maps are subject to recall, as are all circulating materials.
