What do you do for a living?
I'm a Pentagon reporter at National Public Radio.
What did you appreciate most about your Saint Michael's College experience?
The small classes, the sense of community, and good-hearted people like Father Ray Doherty and John D. Donoghue, who gave me my first introduction to journalism.
How do you apply what you learned at Saint Michael's College to your professional life?
I was a history major. Besides being able to synthesize information, my knowledge of American history helps me all the time in my job. Whether it's women in the military or a new medal, I can draw on what I've read to give context to the story.
Who was your most memorable professor, or what was your favorite class?
Norb Kuntz. He brought history alive, pulled me out of my shell and helped me more than he ever knew. I think of him often.
Do you have any advice for students at St. Mike's?
Take a variety of courses, get internships, and search for a job you love.
