Senior Spanish and French majors and one junior Spanish major were inducted into the oldest and most prestigious national academic honor society, Phi Beta Kappa, on Friday, April 3, 2009. Although an average of only about 10% of college students are selected for this honor, the inductees from Modern Languages represent over 40% of our graduating seniors.
Phi Beta Kappa members from Spanish are junior James W. Thurber and seniors Shannon L. Burns, William D. DeGrush, Mary Elizabeth Jenssen, Rachael A. Richardson and Lauren E. Trottier.
Senior French majors inducted are Miryam T. Andrews-Ohlman and Caroline M. Maider.
