Mathematics Colloquium

Saint Michael's College presents a Mathematics Colloquium with Dr. Darlene Olsen of Norwich University speaking on "Statistical Genetics and DNA Microarray Data Analysis." Statistical genetics is concerned with the analysis of genetic data to understand the hereditary causes of disease. Technological advances in the laboratory have provided statisticians with more data that has caused an increased interest in the field of statistical genetics. This talk will give an overview of DNA microarrays and their use in identifying changes in expression levels of genes between tissues from different samples.
