Testimonial:
Saint Michael's allows me to major in a subject I love, while also taking a variety of other classes I find interesting.
What was a favorite class at Saint Michael's?
Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy with Professor Doug Green. We traced the evolution of the heart in all types of vertebrates (reptiles, fish, mammals, amphibians, birds, etc.). The class also features lab dissection.
Have you had any internship or study abroad experiences?
I received a grant from Vermont EPSCoR Streams Project to conduct ecology research with four other students and Professor Declan McCabe, sampling local streams to study pollution levels in the Lake Champlain watershed.
What do you like to do outside of the classroom?
I am an EMT/Driver for Saint Michael's Fire and Rescue Squad, an RA in the dorms, and a peer tutor for the departments of biology and chemistry. I also enjoy skiing, playing rugby and running.
What do you plan to do after graduation?
I would like to pursue something in the healthcare field. One option I'm considering is a graduate degree in clinical psychology, and then getting a degree in nurse practitioning. Another option would be to apply to a master's level entry nurse practitioning program and work as an advanced practice nurse.
