Testimonial:
I think the community at Saint Michael's - and I really mean the community that forms between faculty and students - is outstanding. Professors here invite their classes over for dinner and a conversation because they sincerely believe this type of interaction, the intellectual discourse in a social setting, is part of the whole idea of a liberal arts education. It's fantastic how eager the faculty are to impart their knowledge onto their students.
Why did you decide to come to Saint Michael's?
I wanted to go to a smaller school because I knew the community would be more genuinely welcoming. I also knew that would mean more face time with professors. At Saint Michael's, the proximity of the faculty to their students has been invaluable to me so far.
What's it like to live in Burlington, Vermont?
Burlington is a charming little city. I come from a big city, so Burlington is an entirely different experience. What's nice is that Burlington has a lot to offer without feeling congested.
What was a favorite class at Saint Michael's?
So far, Professor Clary's Shakespeare class has been my favorite simply because of the challenge it gave me. This class was one of the most difficult classes I had taken and it helped me look at everything I read from a new perspective.
What do you like to do outside of the classroom?
I love to sing. I'm in Mike Check, a student a capella group, and I sing in the Chorale. I love playing banjo and I frequently jam with my friends.
