Testimonial:
The MATESOL program at Saint Michael's College nurtures us with sufficient theory and practice that will enhance our lifelong skills, not only in the field of English Language Teaching (ELT) but in Education as a whole. As a former EFL teacher and ESP instructor, I came here to develop thorough expertise in theory in the field of TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), and to share with the Saint Michael's community my experience in the field of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teaching.
What's it like to live in Burlington, Vermont?
Burlington is one of the friendliest places I have ever seen. People are always ready to help and guide you whenever you are in need of something. It is a very sociable environment, as well as countryside-like and authentic. The gorgeous landscape surrounding us makes me feel I am at home.
What do you like to do outside of the classroom?
I love helping people in their community's volunteering activities.
What do you plan to do after graduation?
Before I came to Saint Michaels, I was an EFL teacher in a high school, and an ESP instructor in different college departments. After I graduate from Saint Michael's, I plan to go back to Algeria. I am excited to reinvest all my knowledge in the Algerian educational community at the university/college level. As a self-taught educator, I will strive to continue expanding my knowledge.
What would you say to prospective students considering Saint Michael's College?
I would like to say that students who are looking for a caring college community will find just that at Saint Michael's!
