With substantial banking and higher education development work in her background, Susan J. Moses of Burlington re-joined Saint Michael's College at the start of 2009 as a major gifts officer, with particular focus on planned giving.

"I really enjoy the sense of cooperation and collaboration with my co-workers that I find at Saint Michael's College," Ms. Moses said. "That appeals so much, that makes everyone more effective, and that makes this a place I want to work."

Ms. Moses worked previously at Saint Michael's as director of planned giving from 2003 to 2006; she worked for a year in real estate, and worked in 2007 as director of planned giving and the parent fund at Champlain College. She was director of planned giving at the University of Vermont from 1996 to 2003 and president of the Merchants Trust Company in Burlington from 1986 to 2003.

"I so much enjoyed my time at Saint Michael's, that when the opportunity arose to come back, I decided to return," she said. "Through planned giving I can work with an individual, who has a passion for Saint Michael's and wants to make a significant gift to the college, and I can help them understand ways to accomplish that."

Ms. Moses earned a bachelor's degree in business administration and economics at Utica College of Syracuse University, and a certificate of graduation—trust, from the Williams College School of Banking.

Ms. Moses and her husband Fred are residents of Northshore of Burlington. They are the parents of two grown children, Megan and John.

Saint Michael's College, founded in 1904 by the Society of St. Edmund and headed by President John J. Neuhauser, is identified by the Princeton Review as one of the nation's Best 368 Colleges. A liberal arts, residential, Catholic college, Saint Michael's is located just outside of Burlington, Vermont, one of America's top college towns and less than two hours from Montreal. As one of only 270 institutions nationwide with a prestigious Phi Beta Kappa chapter on campus, Saint Michael's has 2,000 full-time undergraduate students, some 500 graduate students and 200 international students. In recent years Saint Michael's students and professors have received Rhodes, Woodrow Wilson, Guggenheim, Fulbright, National Science Foundation and other grants, and Saint Michael's professors have been named Vermont Professor of the Year in four of the last eight years. The college is currently listed as one of the nation's Best Liberal Arts Colleges in the 2009 U.S. News & World Report rankings.
