The Saint Michael's Fund, formerly referred to as the Annual Fund, is the most popular giving vehicle alumni, parents and friends use to give back to the College. Your gift to the Saint Michael’s Fund makes a crucial difference in the lives of today’s Saint Michael’s students and in the life of Saint Michael’s College. The community that is Saint Michael’s College is close, caring, welcoming, intelligent, inspiring, curious, compassionate and generous. Highest Priorities
Saint Michael’s strives to provide a wide array of opportunities to foster the broadest possible growth. A gift to the Saint Michael’s Fund is automatically allocated to the College’s highest priorities to help the college remain responsive and meet the pressing needs of students as they arise within a given year. The donor may also choose to support one of the more narrowly defined giving opportunities as delineated below.
Scholarships
In the Edmundite Tradition, we continue our commitment to helping more students attend Saint Michael’s regardless of their personal finances. Today, approximately 88% of our students receive some form of grant or scholarship. Gifts to the Saint Michael’s Fund allow us to make greater awards that in turn will reduce some of the overwhelming student debt many of our seniors are currently graduating with.
Academic Enrichment
Our engaged and dedicated faculty and administrators meet students where they are and challenge them to stretch by taking advantage of programs outside the classroom that build the whole person as well as the intellect. Gifts to the Saint Michael’s Fund help to support research projects across disciplines, senior capstone experience, career development and the visiting scholar program.
Faith, Culture and Community
Student life at Saint Michael’s is a 24/7 experience. It’s a “home life” that incorporates faith, community and service through activities such as Campus Ministry, MOVE (Mobilization of Volunteer Efforts), and performing arts. Gifts to the Saint Michael’s Fund provide opportunities for students to become fully educated, engaged and compassionate members of society.
Fitness, Health/Wellness & Sports
While students’ academic development is primary, we know that becoming well-rounded and well-grounded people requires more. Research shows that physical exercise and sports are beneficial to intellectual capacity, and that they enhance student success – in school and in life. Gifts to the Saint Michael’s Fund support the growing number of students engaged in fitness, health and wellness activities from varsity and intramural to recreational and club.
