What is the Cultural Pass?
For the fifth year, Saint Michael's College is thrilled to partner with the Flynn Center to offer any undergraduate student in good academic and social standing a Flynn Center/Saint Michael's Cultural Pass. The Cultural Pass will allow you to attend more than 40 different world-class performances at the Flynn Center during the 2011-12 academic year. The Flynn Center, located at Main and Church streets in the heart of downtown Burlington's entertainment district, is a nationally renowned performing arts venue offering the best in jazz, hip hop, world music, dance, American roots music, Broadway tours and more. The Cultural Pass will give Saint Michael's students access to each event in the Flynn Center's regular season and additional Flynn Center presentations that are announced throughout the year for just a $10 student contribution per ticket. The balance of the ticket cost will be paid for by Saint Michael's.

How do I get the Cultural Pass?
As a Saint Michael's College student in good standing you will be automatically signed up for the Cultural Pass. The first time you order tickets, please allow extra time in case any issues or problems arise with verifying your account.

How do I order tickets?
You can start to order tickets with your Cultural Pass beginning September 15, and may continue to order tickets any time throughout the 2011-2012 season. Therefore, it is in your best interest to get tickets for the very popular performances-such as the Broadway tours-as early as possible. Once a performance is sold out, you will not be able to get a ticket.

To order tickets for a performance
To order tickets to a performance simply go to the Flynn Center Box Office at 153 Main Street in Burlington or call the Flynntix phone line at (802) 863-5966.

Please have your Knight Card with you when you visit or call as the Box Office will need to verify your identity and account number. Without your Knight Card, the box office will not be able to issue you tickets under the Cultural Pass program. For every ticket you order a $10 student contribution will be required. The Box Office accepts cash and all major credit cards, as well as in-state checks (drawn on a Vermont bank and with a Vermont address only). Please note that unfortunately the Box Office cannot accept the SMC Knight Card as a form of payment at this time.

For phone orders, please note that for Cultural Pass tickets, The Flynn Center has agreed to waive the usual $2.50/ticket convenience charge. However, if you choose to order additional tickets to a performance the $2.50/ticket convenience charge for ordering over the phone will apply to each additional ticket (not the Cultural Pass ticket).

Box Office hours are from 10 - 5 Monday - Friday, and 11 - 4 on Saturday. On nights of MainStage performances, the Box Office window stays open for in-person sales through showtime. On nights of Flynnspace performances, the Box Office closes at the usual time but then re-opens 1/2 hour before showtime for in-person sales.

How do I receive my tickets?
For in-person purchases at the Flynn Box Office window at 153 Main Street in Burlington, you will be handed your tickets at the time of purchase. For telephone purchases, your tickets will be held for you to pick up during Box Office business hours or on the night of the show. Tickets can only be held in your own name for pick up, and you must present a photo ID. Please plan to arrive 1/2 hour in advance of the performance time to ensure ample time for ticket pick up.

What if my friends and I want to sit together for a performance?
Your Cultural Pass is good for one (1) $10 ticket for each qualifying event for your own use. You are welcome to purchase additional tickets for friends or family at the regular ticket price at the time of your Cultural Pass ticket order. If you have friends or family that would like to sit together but are purchasing tickets individually, one of you should place the first order and make the Box Office agent who helps you aware of the size of your group. The Box Office will be able to hold adjacent seats for your group. You will be given the location of the seats and they can be held for 24 hours for your friends or family to purchase by visiting or calling the Box Office and mentioning the seat location. Please note however that seats cannot be held for purchase within three days of a performance. If you wish to purchase adjacent seats within 3 days of a performance you must order tickets at the same time – either by visiting or calling the Box Office together.

What if my ticket is for a class requirement?
Cultural Pass tickets that are connected to a class will be arranged in advance by your instructor and will be provided at no cost to the student. In most cases these tickets will be distributed to students by their instructor at the Flynn Center prior to the performance.

How many performances will my Cultural Pass allow me to see?
Your Cultural Pass entitles you to one (1) ticket per qualifying Flynn Center production. That means, in theory, you could go to over 40 different performances over the course of the academic year!

Where is the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts?
The Flynn Center has two venues, both located across from City Hall Park on Main Street in Burlington. The MainStage is a restored Art Deco movie palace built in 1930 and seating over 1400 people. The FlynnSpace is next door and is an intimate 150 seat black box, home to jazz cabaret, experimental theater and performance art, and more.

How can I get to the Flynn Center?
If you do not have a car, you can take a CCTA bus, which travels from Saint Michael's to downtown Burlington many times a day. You can ride the CCTA bus for free with your Knight Card.

There are lots of performances that come through the Flynn – which ones are eligible for Cultural Pass holders?
The Cultural Pass is valid for performances in the Flynn Center’s 2011-2012 MainStage and FlynnSpace Series as well as other events that are added through the year. The Cultural Pass is only valid for performances presented by the Flynn Center. Some performances at the Flynn Center are presented by other promoters (i.e. Higher Ground, Vermont Symphony Orchestra, Vermont Stage Co., etc.) and are not included in the Cultural Pass. Qualifying performances are always listed on the Cultural Pass Web site.

Ticket Return Policy
You should only order tickets to performances you have a commitment to attend, as Saint Michael’s pays for every ticket ordered and picked up. However, if an unavoidable conflict arises and you are unable to use your ticket, you should bring your ticket to the Knight Card Office to ensure that your ticket is not wasted. Your ticket will be redistributed to another member of the Saint Michael’s community. The $10 student contribution is not refundable.
