How long will it take to complete the program?
It is possible to complete the M.Ed. in one and half years; however, typically, students take four years, as most are attending on a part-time basis.
How much time do I have to complete the program?
The Statute of Limitations is seven years.
Does it matter if I don’t already have a teaching license?
No.
If I’ve already taken some Saint Michael’s graduate education courses and have not yet applied, will those credits count towards my degree?
Most likely, yes. It depends on your concentration and when you took the courses.
Do I need to take the Graduate Record Exam (the GRE) for admission?
No.
Is financial aid available to Graduate Education students?
You need to take at least six credits per semester to be considered for financial aid, which is most often in the form of loans. Contact the Financial Aid Office at 802-654-3243 or visit the Web site at www.smcvt.edu/gradprograms, under “Admissions.”
What’s the deadline for applying?
We have a rolling admissions policy. This means that applications are received and reviewed on a continual basis for matriculation for one of three sessions: fall, spring or summer. The Graduate Education Admissions Committee meets approximately 6 times per year.
