Love to teach? The Graduate Education Programs at Saint Michael's are the place to become one of Vermont's great teachers or school leaders.

We believe that educators must have the tools and strategies that empower them to teach diverse students in inclusive classrooms while maintaining a balance between challenge and support, individual and community.  We consider our integrative approach toward education and teacher preparation to hold the potential for transformational change in our current educational system.

Graduate Programs in Education offer courses of study leading to:

• Initial Teacher Licensure
• Master of Education (M.Ed.)
• Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (C.A.G.S.)
• Endorsements for Licensed Teachers

In planning an M.Ed. or C.A.G.S. program, students may choose one of the concentrations listed below:

• Arts
• Curriculum
• Reading
• School Leadership
• Special Education
  

Graduate Programs in Education has Vermont Department of Education approved programs to obtain initial licensure in:

• Elementary (K-6)
• Middle (5-9)
• Secondary (7-12)
• Art (PreK-6, 7-12, PreK-12)
• Theatre Arts (PreK-6, 7-12, PreK-12)
• English as a Second Language (PreK-6, 7-12, PreK-12)
• Special Educator (K-8, Grade 7-Age 21, K-Age 21)

...and additional endorsements in many areas. Programs are designed so that a student can complete an M.Ed. degree and a license/endorsement concurrently.
