Students with a Vermont teaching license are eligible for the Reading/English Language Arts Specialist Endorsement upon completing Saint Michael's approved program. In consultation with an advisor, students select six courses (18 credits) in the areas of reading instruction and methods, reading assessment, language arts, and children’s literature.
After successful completion of:
1) These six courses (with a grade of "B" or better),
2) Three years of teaching experience,
3) The Reading Specialist Praxis,
Then students take GED 688D Reading Practicum (3 credits) and become eligible for the additional endorsement.
