Student Services

If you will be a new student with us this upcoming term, we invite you to get to know us, take a tour of campus, or simply ask questions. To prepare for your class(es) at Saint Michael's, you will need to:

  1. Get a parking permit for your vehicle if you are going to be driving to campus. You may complete a Student Parking Permit Request Form online. Call the Public Safety Office at 802.654.2374 with questions.
  2. Get a computer account if you want free e-mail and internet access while on campus (some classes may require it). You may complete this form online. Call the Help Desk, 802.654.2020 with questions.
  3. Purchase your books required for your class. You can see a list of the required books for your class by selecting "Booklist" on the homepage of the Campus Store. If you wish to get these books at our Campus Store, you can call and order with a credit card to pick them up or have them mailed to you. You can request the status of your books online.  Call the Campus Store at 802.654.2517 with questions.
  4. Pay your bill. Unless you have completed a deferred payment agreement with the College, you will need to pay your tuition bill before the first day of class. Contact Laurie Savage, lsavage@smcvt.edu, 802.654.2581, in the Student Account Office with questions.

If you are a new student to the Graduate Programs, you will additionally wish to:

  1. Get a "Knight Card" (SMC ID card). Students can get their Knight Card during regular business hours (9am–3pm) at the Knight Card Office in Alliot Hall, Room 207, or, send a pdf photo (head and shoulders) to PhotoID@smcvt.edu. You need to know your student ID number which is printed on your course confirmation (also called the "Student Schedule"). IDs can be picked up in the Library after hours. Knight Cards can be obtained no earlier than one week prior to classes, or, two days after you register if classes have begun.
  2. Get a Knightvision account if you wish to see your financial aid disbursements. Knightvision is also used for online registration after your first term with us. Contact the Helpdesk at 802.654.2020.

For students wishing to use the public transportation system, the local bus service is efficient and inexpensive. The Essex Junction bus (#2) passes every fifteen minutes to half-hour depending on the time of day. Busses run generally from 6:00am to 9:00pm Monday through Friday and later on weekends. There is a stop at Saint Michael's College. Check current schedules.

Graduate information, including schedules, catalogues, program brochures, admission applications, wilderness programming and other campus news is available in the graduate programs information rack at the first floor junction of Saint Edmund’s Hall and Jeanmarie Hall. If at any time you have questions or suggestions, contact Dee Goodrich, Graduate Admission and Marketing, dgoodrich@smcvt.edu, 802.654.2251.

We are happy to assist all students with questions on courses and scheduling, admissions, housing, financial aid and other student service information. While all information and forms are found on our Web site, these may also be mailed or e-mailed to you at your request. Contact us at:
