Identification Cards
You will only need a photo ID card, also known as a "Knight Card" if:
1) you are a matriculated student (accepted into a graduate program of study through an admission process); or,
2) you are going to take books out of the library.
However, all students need to know their ID number. Your ID number is on the front side of your registration confirmation (called the "student schedule") that is mailed to you after you register for a class.
If you already have a Knight Card, your ID number is the last seven digits of the number on that card. (Click here for sample.)
The Knight Card can also be used as a debit card for such expenses as photocopying, using on-campus vending machines, or using at various businesses around Burlington. If you would like to obtain a Knight Card, stop by the Knight Card Office in Alliot Hall, Room 207, 802.654.9500, during regular office hours. Please see their Web site at www.smcvt.edu/knightcard. For after-hours, you can get your photo ID taken in the Library. Please stop by the Circulation Desk. Please note: You must allow two business days from the date of your registration before applying for a Knight Card.
For questions regarding Knight Cards, contact Liz Jackson in the Knight Card Office, ejackson@smcvt.edu.
