A few of the 2017 Next Genius Scholarship winners
Saint Michael’s College established a partnership with Next Genius, a Mumbai-based educational initiative that pairs students in India with U.S. colleges based on its annual scholarship competition. The competition engages more than 5,000 students who complete an online critical thinking assessment and personal interview. In 2018, Saint Michael’s College will award a minimum of two half-tuition scholarships to top candidates.
“Our vision is to identify world changers and connect them with outstanding educational and career opportunities. We hope to establish a community of future leaders who will leave a strong impact on society. To accomplish this, we have partnered with Saint Michael’s College, with its excellent reputation for academics and social justice,” said Dr. Neeraj Mandhana, founder of The Next Genius Foundation.
Participation in The Next Genius Foundation scholarship program supports Saint Michael’s College’s commitment to continually growing its international student population.
“We currently have students from 22 different countries enrolled at Saint Michael’s College, making up close to 10 percent of our total student population,” said Kevin Spensley, Director of International Enrollment. “Our diversity helps create a dynamic learning environment where students can share ideas and have important conversations that further develop their critical thinking skills.”
Saint Michael’s College is a four-year private, liberal arts university, located in Vermont, USA with strong academic reputation. Our 1,900 undergraduates choose from 36 majors, with additional opportunities for student research, internships, an honors program and study abroad. More than 150 international undergraduate students are on our campus. Saint Michael’s College is located in the great college town of Burlington, Vermont. In addition to Saint Michael’s College, Next Genius has partnered with a number of higher education institutions: Beloit College, Wisconsin; Drew University, New Jersey; Foothill College, California; Juniata College, Pennsylvania; Lynn University, Florida; Millsaps College, Mississippi; Texas Christian University, Texas; Union College, New York; University of Rochester, New York; and Wheaton College, Massachusetts.
Founded in 2014, The Next Genius Foundation is a registered charitable trust in India that offers full and partial tuition scholarships to outstanding Indian high school students to pursue their undergraduate education in North America and Europe. It is the largest undergraduate study abroad scholarship fund in India. In the last two years, it has awarded scholarships worth $3.5 million to 39 students from 34 schools. In 2017, the organization hopes to award over $6 million in scholarships to more than 70 students.
