International students at Saint Michael's College are invited to participate in a variety of educational, social and recreational activities on campus. Some of these events include lectures, presentations,
concerts, films, athletic events, intramural sports, wilderness programs including a learn-to-ski/snowboard program and several club activities.
Students also have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of activities and trips offered by the School of International Studies (SIS).
Weekly international coffee hours are planned where U.S. and international students, faculty, and staff come together to share traditional foods of a particular country, coffee and tea – the perfect time to meet new people and have great conversations in English!
Students enrolled in our English Language Programs often have the chance to visit their instructors’ homes for activities such as cooking, class parties or to partake in Vermont's seasonal traditions.
For the Thanksgiving holiday, international students are invited to share in a traditional Thanksgiving dinner at the home of a Saint Michael's College student, faculty or staff member. In addition, fun-filled weekend excursions are planned to points of interest in Vermont and beyond.
SIS trips to sites in Vermont include the Shelburne Museum, Morse Farm Maple Sugarworks, Smugglers Notch Ski Resort, Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory, Stowe Village, Manchester Factory Outlets and more. With convenient transportation options, students may also travel to Boston, Montreal and other metropolitan areas during their stay.
