VCLA is a five-year project (2005-2010) funded by the U.S. Department of Education. 98% of the $712,933 dedicated to this project comes from the Office of English Language Acquisition (National Professional Development Grant T195N040199), and the small remainder from the 20 teachers accepted into the VCLA program for graduate education in ESL.
The Vermont Consortium for Language and Academics is a lively consortium of educators working to help Vermont teachers be more effective in their increasingly diverse classrooms through:
- graduate education in ESL for twenty Vermont teachers
- a broad range of staff development options for Vermont schools
- a website and resource network for educators in and beyond our state
