History
The Edmundite Seminary Guild was established in November 1962 as part of the Edmundite Development program.  The initial function of the Seminary Guild was fund-raising for seminary support.  It was located in Mystic, CT, and was originally established as subsidiary of the Society of Saint Edmund of CT, Inc.   The Guild sent out appeals and collected money independent of other fund raising efforts of the Society.  For a short time it included the “Train-A Priest Club,” founded in 1961.  Members of the “Train-A Priest Club” sent monthly contributions to help sustain, clothe, house, and educate priests, brothers, and candidates.  In the 1990’s, Guild offices were moved to Selma, AL and management moved to the Edmundite Missions offices.

Scope
This record group is arranged alphabetically.  Most of the material is financial in nature.  While most of these reports are available in the Treasurer General’s files, these were retained because some include supporting information or notations.  In many cases, they include quarterly reports, which are not retained by the office of the Treasurer General.  Other items include some brochures and ephemera, correspondence and some reports prepared by outside agencies for the Seminary Guild.
