NEASC Revised Standards: The New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) revised standards (4.6, 4.18, 7.4, and 7.7) specify that graduates successfully completing an undergraduate program should demonstrate competencies including the capability for continuing learning and the skills of information literacy.
Information Literacy defined: Information literacy is a set of competencies enabling individuals to "recognize when information is needed and have the ability to locate, access, evaluate, and use effectively the needed information." Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL)
Competencies: In keeping with ACRL, Library & Information Services prepares students to achieve information literacy competence by teaching them to:
