  • Chronicling America:  Historic American Newspapers
    Access some 550 digitized U.S. newspapers from 1836-1922.  Includes Burlington Free Press and Vermont Farmer.

  • State Papers Online:  the Government of Britain, 1509-1714
    The purchase of State Papers Online was made possible through a gift from the Society of Saint Edmund.

    Published in four seamless Parts, State Papers Online offers two hundred years of British and European history, from the reign of Henry VIII to the end of the reign of Queen Anne. State Papers Online gathers together 16th- and 17th- century British State Papers and links these historical manuscripts to their fully text-searchable Calendars.  Contains 3 million pages of 16th- & 17th-century British government documents. Over 200,000 searchable pages of Calendars and catalogues.

  • Historical Reports were added to Value Line Investment Survey
    Historical reports include information dating back to 1997.

  • Patrologia Latina
    An electronic version of the first edition of Jacques-Paul Migne's Patrologia Latina, published between 1844 and 1855, and the four volumes of indexes published between 1862 and 1865. The Patrologia Latina comprises the works of the Church Fathers from Tertullian in 200 AD to the death of Pope Innocent III in 1216.

  • JSTOR Arts & Sciences IX added to JSTOR holdings
    The Arts & Science IX Collection will include a total of 150 titles by the end of 2012, widening JSTOR’s coverage in business and the social sciences, including archaeology, anthropology, sociology, economics, population studies, and political science.


  • Anthropological Literature
    Comprehensive international resource for the fields of anthropology and related interdisciplinary research.  Offers acess to more than 570,000 citations that cover articles published from the early 19th century to the present in more than 50 languages.  Contains articles and essays on social and cultural anthropology, Old and New World archaeology, physical anthropology and anthropological aspects of related subjects emphasizing Mesoamerican, Native American and Andean archaeology and ethnology.

  • Art & Architecture Complete
    A research database for the study of art and architecture.  Indexing and abstracts for more than 780 academic journals, magazines and trade publications, as well as for over 230 books. Provides full-text coverage of 380 periodicals and more than 220 books.  The database also provides selective coverage for 70 additional publications and an Image Collection of over 63,000 images provided by Picture Desk and others.  Covers a variety of subjects, including antiques, art and art history, interior and landscape design.

  • Career Transitions
    An online career guidance center that walks users through the job-search process from beginning to end. It brings together tools needed to explore and take the leap to a new career. Career Transitions uses a step-by-step approach to help people: 1) explore new career possibilities; 2) assess their interests and experience; 3) identify ways to improve their prospects, including networking and education; 4) prepare for a job search; and 5) search and apply for jobs.  Users create a unique account.

  • Chicago Manual of Style
    Citation guide.  American English style, grammar and punctuation with prescribed writing and citation styles. 

  • Dictionary of Irish Biography
    Comprehensive and authoritative biographical dictionary for Ireland. Over 9,000 signed biographical articles describe and assess the careers of subjects in all fields of endeavour, including politics, law, religion, literature, journalism, architecture, painting, music, the stage, science, medicine, engineering, entertainment and sport.

  • Education in Video
    From Alexander Street Press:  online collection of streaming video developed for training and developing teachers. Upon completion, the collection will contain more than 1,000 video titles totaling 750 hours of teaching demonstrations, lectures, documentaries, and primary-source footage of students and teachers in actual classrooms.  This release now provides 118 titles, equaling approximately 77 hours.

  • Horn Book Guide Online
    Short, critical reviews of hardcover trade books published in the United States for young people. The reviews are clear and succinct (about 60 to 75 words), identifying strengths and weaknesses.  Ratings:  1-6.  1 is the highest.  The database is searchable by author, illustrator, title, subject, and bibliographic data, as well as by rating. Currently, there are more than 80,000 full text reviews.

  • Political Handbook of the World
    Extensive information about the systems of government and the political parties for all the countries in the world. In addition, profiles of 120 intergovernmental organizations, such as the OPEC, NATO, and the African Union are included.

  • Small Business Resource Center
    Covers all major areas of starting, operating and maintaining a business from financing, management, marketing, accounting, taxes and more.  Includes more than 200 business plans, plus articles, topic overviews, statistical tables and directory records. 

  • Women's Studies International
    An index to scholarly resources in women's studies.  Some material dates from 1972, the bulk from 1984 to present.  

  • World at War:  Understanding Conflict & Society
    Authoritative accounts of past wars that have shaped our world, as well as up-to-date information regarding current conflicts.
