Aviation History Month
In November 1782, Joseph Michel Montgolfier and Jacques Etienne Montgolfier--brothers living in Annonay, France--discovered that heated air, when collected inside a large lightweight paper or fabric bag, caused the bag to rise into the air.  Their work led to the first hot-air balloon and the birth of aviation.  This exhibit includes several books about aviation and a timeline of important moments in the history of flight.
