The Frick Collection and the Frick Art Reference Library http://www.frick.org Site includes a virtual tour of the Frick Galleries, updates on current exhibitions, a link to the reference library homepage, membership information, recent news about or concerning the Frick Museum and general information. The site also includes tour information and a calendar of events.
The Louvre http://www.louvre.fr Site includes a virtual tour of several of the Louvre's galleries, information on the history of the museum and its collections, visitor's information, and a link to recent and/or current activities such as temporary exhibitions and lectures, films and other activities to be held in the auditorium. Some of the information is available in French only.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art http://www.metmuseum.org/ Site includes information on collection, special exhibitions, events and programs, educational resources, a "create your own virtual Met" site, an online collection, a virtual tour of selected galleries, information on membership, tours, lectures and concerts to be held at the Met and resources on Art History, the Provenance Research Project and news of or related to the museum and its collections. The State Hermitage Museum, St. Petersburg, Russia http://www.hermitagemuseum.org/ A fledgling site of a very important museum, this Hermitage museum site is available in Russian or English and includes an excellent Quick Search feature.
Tate Gallery http://www.tate.org.uk/ Site provides links to various Tate collections and affiliated museums. Also, the site makes a collection of paintings of selected painters available online. A search engine allows users to search the database by collection or subject. An archive, a library of resources and a picture library are also available. A link to "Tate Connections," which includes an Art Projects Online site is also included.

Most of the site is devoted to the study of costuming and the history of fashion. Site also includes links to related sites and museum collections.
VADS: The Visual Arts Data Service http://vads.ahds.ac.uk/index.php Contains images from over 40 British collections. Searching is by theme or collection and includes fashion, war posters, women's suffrage banners, Romanesque sculpture, 20th century crafts, portraits and more. VADS has links to other useful web sites. Its free Lightbox feature allows users to assemble their own collections for educational purposes.
