Things to Consider for Research in Biology:

1. Choose the Appropiate Database for your topic

See Research by Subject : Medline, SciFinder, JSTOR, Google Scholar, ....

2. Subject Thesaurus - Use a subject thesaurus to find appropiate keywords for your topic

See MESH (Medical Subject Headings) - in MEDLINE

3. Search Results - Look over search results and understand if they are displayed by chronology or relevancy

4. Author Searching: See what else the author's of the article has published.

5. Use the Biology Quick Search or Medicine Quick Search interface to search a suite of databases in one search.  Use this tool as a starting point for your research.

6.  Works Cited - Look over the works cited in a research article.  Find the full text of a reference list citation.
